STANDARDS

ISO-9001-2015 (Quality Management Systems)

This standard is based on a number of quality management principles including a strong customer focus, the motivation and implication of top management, the process approach and continual improvement. These principles are explained in more detail in ISO’s quality management principles. Using ISO 9001 helps ensure that customers get consistent, good-quality products and services, which in turn brings many business benefits

ISO-14001-2015 (Environmental Management)

Specifies the requirements for an environmental management system that an organisation can use to enhance its environmental performance.

ISO 14001:2015 helps an organisation achieve the intended outcomes of its environmental

management system, which provide value for the environment, the organisation itself and interested parties. Consistent with the organisation's environmental policy, the intended outcomes of an environmental management system include:

· enhancement of environmental performance;

· fulfilment of compliance obligations;

· achievement of environmental objectives.

ISO-28001:2007 (Security Management Systems) - Supplychain

ISO 28001:2007 provides requirements and guidance for organisations in international supply chains to:

  • develop and implement supply chain security processes;
  • establish and document a minimum level of security within a supply chain(s) or segment of a supply chain;
  • assist in meeting the applicable authorized economic operator (AEO) criteria set forth in the World Customs Organization Framework of Standards and conforming national supply chain security programs.

ISO-22000 (Food Safety Management)

ISO 22000 sets out the requirements for a food safety management system and can be certified to it. It maps out what an organization needs to do to demonstrate its ability to control food safety hazards in order to ensure that food is safe. It can be used by any organization regardless of its size or position in the food chain.

BRC (British Retail Consortium)

BRC is an international Food Safety Management Systems standard, and is one of the GFSI recognised certification schemes. It contains requirements for food processors to follow to build an effective food safety management system. There are also editions of the standard for food packaging manufacturers, storage and distribution and now agent and brokers.
